ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) is pleased to announce an agreement with SPARXiQ and Mark McGready that will allow the company and the association to split McGready’s time and work with both.
McGready will remain as the Director of Strategic Analytics for SPARXiQ, but also work with NAED distributor members as an independent Data Insights Advisor. In his role with NAED, McGready will help distributors maintain and analyze data. “I’m here to help companies better understand how they can use data in their business,” McGready explained. “Most reporting today can tell you where your business metrics are but may not tell you why you’re getting the results you’re getting, or what to do about them, or how and when to respond. Being able to transform data into meaningful, actionable insights is a critical skill set I hope to help develop.”
McGready says he would also like to help members become more comfortable with data interpretation, which includes using data from a number of NAED products, including the Market Data Program, the NAED Economic and Industry Sector Outlook, and PAR.
“2021 isn’t going to be like 2019. 2022 isn’t going to be like 2018,” McGready said. “We’re in world anew, where year over year won’t really matter as the playing fields have changed. So what’s most important is understanding this new world. Taking stock of what our companies have become, what our customers now look like and what they may need. In times of great change movement happens, and if you’re blind to the movements around you then that’s how you quickly get lost. And chances are the next 18 months are going to be as wild as the last 18 months.”
McGready started working as an independent contractor with NAED in mid-March, and his current agreement will keep him working with both NAED and SPARXiQ through February of 2022. You can contact Mark McGready at mmcgready@naed.org if you have questions about data analysis.
