Election 2020: Hurry Up and Wait

Written by NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTORS | October 27, 2020

During this election cycle, NAED's Government Affairs Office has produced several short videos to help you understand what’s at stake and what could potentially happen in the November 3rd election.

In this latest video Ian Reynolds, NAED's General Counsel, discusses some of the legal issues surrounding the 2020 Presidential Election. He shares why the mail-in ballot process is such a complicated issue. COVID-19 has caused so many to vote early that it could cause delays in knowing certain outcomes. Reynolds wraps it up with a look at what role the U.S. Supreme Court may play, if any, in the events as they unfold.

Last week Ed Orlet, NAED's Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Strategic Projects, took a look at key races in the House of Representatives and gave his take on whether or not Nancy Pelosi will remain Speaker of the House. Catch that video here.

On November 10, Orlet will host the “NAED Electrical Industry Post-Election Conference” to help you understand and prepare for the results.

Join NAED and a distinguished panel of experts for a look at the results of the 2020 Election and how it will impact you and the electrical industry. Guest speakers include political commentator and WSJ editor Kim Strassel, NAW's Jade West, NECA's Marco Giamberardino, Donald Leavens of NEMA, NAED analyst Erin Prinster, along with Ed Orlet. More information can be found here.

If you have questions or comments for Orlet, you can reach him at eorlet@naed.org or governmentaffairs@naed.org.
